INDIAN ART OF BHARATHANATYM ❤️🥺
Dance and Music are integral parts of Indian life. In dance the body is used most beautifully as a medium of communication to express the various moods and emotions efficiently .
Genuinely spiritual in nature , Indian classical dances have evolved through the centuries into BHARATHANATYM .
Bharathanatym is a symbol of beauty and aesthetic perfection .The Devdasis popularized this dance the AARTHI performed in the evening before the gods and goddesses . The devdasis believed the gods to be their husbands and spent their entire life dedicated to them, and remained unmarried .
Bharathanatym , In south Indian is considered to bethe most ancient and purest form of classical dance of india. As in any classical dance form Bharathanatym requires total dedication , vigorous practice and full concentration .It requires a mastering over the technique of movements to achieve grace , balance , flexibility , physical endurance and a faultless sense of rhythm .
The costume of bharathanatym has been developed from time to time . The costumes that were prevelant earlier have been improvised and designed according to the needs and aesthetic .
But the most commonly used styles include the skirt /saree style and the pyjama style.some also use the normal saree and stitch it temperoraily for the dance purpose .The most beautiful part of the costume is the knife -pleated fan which is either knee length or mid -calf length and links the two legs of the pyjamas. This fan opens up whenever the dancer takes the basic Bharathanatym posture of "ARAMANDI".
The specific jewellery that is used for the dance is called as the temple jewelry , which is made of semi precious stone and metal. It consits of Mattal and earbells for the ear kasimalai , Bangles, Talai saamaan , surya prabha, chandra prabha, flowers and other hair decorations. Nose ring , chalang( ankle bells) . Raakodi is worn at the top of the head. Which provides as an anchor flowers worn by the dancer. The hair is mostly plaited and tied to a beautiful fringe called the kunjalam.
So the Bharathanatym is my one of favourite dance form of indian classical dance.
Bharathanatym: A Beautiful Cultural Expression.❤👍
